Quality and Safety
Sauleda's work is backed by the leading textile-quality certifications, and by efficiency and safety standards in our production processes.
At Sauleda we follow a strict supplier-selection process to safeguard the certification and quality accreditation of our products. We meet the highest standards across all types of applications: domestic, decorative and industrial. Since 1999 we have held ISO 9001 quality management system certification.
This certification is issued by an internal ISO 9001 quality auditor, through one of the ISO quality certifying bodies. It certifies that the overall management of industrial process control is carried out in accordance with European quality standards, and meets them with excellence.
Sauleda's Main Certifications

ISO 9001
ISO 9001 is a global benchmark in QMS, with more than a million certificates issued worldwide. It provides the infrastructure, procedures, processes and resources organizations need to control and improve their performance, driving them toward efficiency, customer service and product excellence.

STANDARD 100 OEKO-TEX®
Oeko-Tex® is an independent quality certification body. The Standard 100 certification is an independent, worldwide-consistent testing and verification system for raw, intermediate and finished textile products at every stage of manufacturing, as well as for the materials and accessories used.
It is among the textile-quality certifications that guarantee Sauleda fabrics are made without any substance harmful to health, skin or the environment. Discover Sauleda's ecological commitment through its Green® fabric and its quality certificate, which also certifies the Masacril fabric.

UV STANDARD 801
UV STANDARD 801 is one of the strictest testing and certification systems for shading textiles in the world. The testing process determines the UPF (Ultraviolet Protection Factor), which specifies the UV protection factor of textiles.
Unlike other UV standards that only test textiles when new and dry, UV STANDARD 801 also tests sun-protection textiles under realistic conditions of use. This is because, with daily use, UV protection tends to be drastically reduced by moisture, stretching, abrasion and washing.

MADE IN EUROPE
The letters "CE" appear on many products marketed within the extended single market of the European Economic Area (EEA). They mean that products sold in the EEA have been assessed to meet high requirements for safety, health and environmental protection.

Guarantee
Our guarantee is the result of Sauleda's quality control
At Sauleda we have tested the durability of our fabric and want to share our experience. After many years, checks and tests carried out at prestigious laboratories show that Sauleda fabrics have a lifespan longer than the years covered by the guarantee.
For your peace of mind, however, we offer up to ten years of guarantee under normal exposure to sun and weathering.

Performance Features
Characteristics of Sauleda fabrics
When you buy a Sauleda fabric, you should be aware of all these properties, which you'll need to keep in mind for the fabric's proper care and maintenance over time.
Stain Resistant
Maximum resistance to environmental staining. The SAULEDA FABRIC PROTECTOR coating on our fabrics creates a barrier effect that reinforces water repellency and slows down dirt adhesion. Important: agents such as acid rain or bird droppings, as well as abrasive washing of the fabric, can damage the SAULEDA FABRIC PROTECTOR coating.
UV Resistant
Unbeatable colorfastness of the fabric against light and weathering. Sauleda fabrics offer 90% sun protection in most of their designs, delivering high resistance to UV rays. In collaboration with Aitex and the association for applied ultraviolet (UV) protection testing, Sauleda carried out a study investigating how its designs behave when exposed to UV radiation in their original form and after undergoing various treatments related to their most common uses and to aging — all of them passed successfully.
Antibacterial
The fiber used to make the yarn in the weaving process carries an antibacterial treatment, which is reinforced by the Sauleda Fabric Protector finish applied to the fabrics. It is important to always let the fabric dry completely before storing or rolling it up.
Climate-Responsive
The characteristics of a climate-responsive fabric are those that let the fabric breathe, keeping moisture and wind from passing through it. A climate-responsive fabric offers two effects: a reduced sensation of heat, lowering the temperature when you're underneath the fabric during periods of strong sun and heat, and a sense of thermal protection underneath the fabric when the surrounding air is cooler.
Two-Sided
A fabric that combines two excellent materials, resulting in a reversible, two-sided technical fabric. Manufactured at our new facilities, always using the highest-quality raw materials. A fabric that shows a different finish or color on the front than on the back.
Dimensional Stability
During the fabric manufacturing process it receives a final treatment that guarantees excellent dimensional stability, being subjected to extra tension to ensure dimensional stability in its later uses.
Easy Care
Easy-care fabrics: follow our five basic tips: Vacuum away dirt periodically. If needed, clean with mild soap, a sponge and water at a maximum of 30°C. Rinse with water. Always let the fabric dry completely before rolling or folding it. Do not use abrasive products. In winter, store the awning in a cover.
Flame Retardant
Fire-reaction classification M1 or M2, depending on the fabric. When exposed to fire, the fabric does not release melted material and does not sustain the flame, preventing the fire from spreading.
Waterproof
Fabrics with this waterproof characteristic do not allow water or air to pass through the fabric.
Dry Cleaning
Dry cleaning is NOT suitable.
Maximum Resistance
Maximum resistance of the fabric to rot and breakage. During the manufacturing process the fabric receives a final treatment that guarantees excellent breakage resistance, being subjected to extra tension to ensure dimensional stability in its later uses.
Phosphorescent
A phosphorescent fabric that absorbs energy from light and stores it, in order to later emit it as light, released slowly over the hours following absorption.
Ironing
Iron at a moderate temperature.
Responsible Production
Constant investment in our production lines brings in the most modern technologies and incorporates the latest safety measures to fulfill a dual social and environmental responsibility. We contribute to environmental safety by using responsible production processes and treating waste so as not to degrade our natural surroundings.
Fast Drying
The fiber used to make the yarn in the product's weaving process promotes fast drying of the fabric.
Water Repellent
Constant investment in our production lines brings in the most modern technologies and incorporates the latest safety measures to fulfill a dual social and environmental responsibility. We contribute to environmental safety by using responsible production processes and treating waste so as not to degrade our natural surroundings.
Tumble Drying
Do NOT tumble dry.
Wash Temperature
Wash at a maximum temperature of 30° using mild soap.
Breathable
Air permeability and water repellency. The fiber used to make the yarn in the product's weaving process promotes breathability in the fabric, preventing unpleasant damp stains from forming. It is important to always let the fabric dry completely before storing or rolling it up.
Bleach Use
The use of bleach in moderate amounts is permitted.
